We discussed several posts on implementing, configuring, and continuing improvements to Windows Virtual Desktop, one of the fastest-growing solutions to enable remote work. From this post, let's talk about another progress that would be important to end-user experience when they configure the WVD for first-time use.
When a user login through an iOS or Android device, they need to download and use the RD client app. This app requires the user to provide the email address or the Workspace URL as below. However, the email addresses will not work until you configure the DNS properties.
So, you have to share the below WVD feed discovery URL with end-users, or your admins need to configure it for them.
https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/api/arm/feeddiscovery
It’s a long URL, and it will be challenging to remember not only to end-users, even to Admins. The solution is to configure a DNS txt record to link the feed discovery URL so users can use their email address or azure identity when they first configure the RD client. Let’s see how we can configure this.
Give some time to propagate the DNS. When you log in again, you can use the email address and no longer require to type the WVD Feed discovery URL.
I hope this post is useful.
